*Hamburg/G20 Summit/Angelo Marcopolo/- An Exceptional, Unprecedented Day of Total Transports Blackout, as far as the 2017 "G20" Summit in Hamburg (Germany) is concerned, looks ...Ideal in order to Dream for its exact Opposite:

=> I.e. the creation of a Global Railway Network, particularly on this Occasion of the Next, 2018 "G20" Summit, scheduled, for the 1st Time in History, at a Latin-American Country, and even Argentina : ...Twice "at the Other Side of the World" !

Indeed, a Very High Speed (TTGV in the Original in French) Train, already Able to reach about 600-700 km/h, exists since many years (f.ex. since 2007 in France), as "Eurofora" witnessed, f.ex. in an Exhibition organized in Strasbourg as Early as back on 2007-2008, along the Franco-German Rhine River's borders, on the occasion of the Official Opening of the 1st Paris - Strasbourg "TGV", an "Only" 350+ km/h High Speed Train.

And, since Today, Hamburg's Total (Public and Private) Transport Blackout, unexpectedly imposed, without any previous warning, (and even with a Misleading Official Info for "G20" Summit Journalists, which had "strongly advised" to use "Only Public Transports" in order to come and go around the International Media Center, while they finaly proved to be Unusable), Obliged us to ...Walk, (even overNight or during a torrid Heatwave, and with Heavy Luggage, withOut Time to Sleep, but with a Leg suffering from Pains, and using Crunches : i.e. too Slowly, and withOut a Detailed Map of the City), for More than 1 Hour, just to move ...between an Hotel and the IMC, almost the Same Time needed with a TTGV/VHSP to go ...from Paris to Berlin (!), ...Dream for a Better Future, was the only way Not to Think about the dire current situation...

Thus, World-Famous Science-Fiction Writer Jules Verne, from France, with a Landmark short but imaginative Novel about a Future City well Linked to Local, Regional, National and Global Networks of Innovative High Speed Transports on the Ground, (Airplanes, Rockets, Spacecrafts and UFOs excluded), was, in the present circumstances, a pretty Handy Inspiration...

But the Best Symbol of our Times was, surprisingly, ...Right Here : I.e. at this, exceptionaly Immobilized Hamburg City itself !

Simply because Hamburg (with its Neighbour City of Druisburg) already is a Trans-Continental, Eur-Asian Terminal Hub for EU - China Railway Transports, officialy inaugurated just a few years ago : Since 2013, on the occasion of the 1st Visit to Europe by the current Chinese President Xi Jiping.

Already, this can go, Directly, as far as to Link EU's Hamburg/Druisburg (i.e., practicaly from the Northern Sea/Atlantic Ocean), up to China's Shanghai, and/or Russia's Vladivostok (i.e. almost at the Pacific Ocean), - passing though 2 Different Roadmaps : via Russia-Kazakstan, or all the way via Russia's Siberian area - which is quite a bit...

"Eurofora"s co-Founder had already conceived and suggested, a Long Time ago, to the French Authorities, the Creation of a PanEuropean, "Madrid - Paris - Berlin - Moscow", High Speed Speed Train (TGV) Network, as Early as Since 2004, on the occasion of an Official Inauguration at Strasbourg's Euro-Fair, soon followed by a landmark, Historic "Quadrilateral" Summit, bringing Together, precisely, Spanish, French, German and Russian Top Leaders, (i.e., by a coincidence: exactly as we had suggested), at Elysée Palace in Paris, organized by the Experienced former Long-Time President Jacques Chirac on March 2005.

+ Later-on Chirac's Government even went as far as to Establish a Joint Branch Company between France's "Alsthom" (the Builder of Famous "TGV") and its Russian counterpart, which, obviously, went exactly in the Same Direction of that EU - Russia Cooperation on High Speed Train Networks that we had initialy suggested.

(It was almost, during he same period of time, as, mutatis-mutandis, also for the Idea - initialy provocative, but afterwards effectively realized - to use Russian "Soyouz" Rockets in order to Launch Satellites at French Gyuanne's "Kurur" Space-Port, which, meanwhile, became also EU's Space Launching area : Our Initial Publication, elsewhere at the Web, had been simply Titled, with a Short, but substantial Headline : - "Soyuz at Kuru ?!").

But, if, Nowadays, you can already Go by Train from Spain all the way up to China's Shanghai and/or Russia's Vladivostok, (Comp. Supra), then, what could and should Follow, (from the point of view of the Above-mentioned "Dream" on the eventual Creation of a Global Railway Network : GRN, Comp. Supra), is quite Obvious :

=> It's enough to Cross over the Bering Straight, between Russia (Siberia) and USA (Alasca), from one side -f.ex. by Building a Bridge, as between Denmark and Sweden, or Crimea and mainland Russia, etc, either an UnderGround Tunnel, as between France and the UK, etc. - and over Gibraltar Rock, between Spain and Morocco, att the Other side, (much More Easy).

Then, the Way is theoretically Open in order to Advance, sooner of later, (naturaly using, at least at the Beginning, also the PreExisting Local Rail Networks), towards Johannesburg, in South Africa, and up to ...Patagonia, in Argentina, i.e. at the 2 Opposite Ends of that Huge Land area which is Formed by the 3 Biggest Continents of the World : African, European and American.

Australia and all Other Parts of the World, could, naturaly, be Linked into the main "Backbone" of such a possible Global Railway Network (GRN) by various transversal Lines, mostly vertical or diagonal, but also horizontal, according to needs and possibilities.

If and When such a Dream might succeed to be realized, then, it would, obviously, be Simple and Easy to just jump into a Train at Hamburg (Germany), and afterwards get out at ...Buenos-Aires (Argentina), Linking directly the 2 "G20" Summits' Host Countries of 2017 and 2018 (Comp. Supra).

From a "Timing" point of view, already, the EU - China TransContinental Railway Network, which exists since Recently (Comp. Supra), reportedly takes about 6 Days to fully cross, from one End to another, (through Kazakstan). A Longer, entirely Trans-Siberian Railway link, (i.e. more Simple to cross, and Arriving up to Vladivostok, Shanghai, etc), already existing too, reportedly needs 8 Days now.

=> So that a Fully Global Railway Network (GRN), as the one Evoked by the Frontline Heading's simplified Design on a World's Map, the we published Supra, should, apparently, take, approximatively, something between 21 and 30 Days (Less than a Month) to cross Entirely, according to the average Low Speed Train links used in that pre-existing example.

Naturaly, a more or less High Speed Train (TGV) Network, theoretically possible to Build progressively, may Shorten these Timeframes Down to approximatively something around 12 or 23 Days (for a Full Trip, all along the Longest line). And a "Very High Speed" Train (TTGV) link (Comp. Supra), might arrive to do the same in, approximatively, about 9 or 15 Days, all for all : i.e. allmost Similar to Today's, already Existing Hamburg/Druisburg - Shanghai Railway link, (Comp. Supra), but then, it would be Really "Global", accross the whole World !

Why do that, when much Faster Airplanes exist, able to cross such Distances in 1,5 Day, instead of 1,5 Week ?

- First, simply Because most Merchandises, for Imports and Exports, (particularly Global), notoriously canNot be Transported by an Airplane, and clearly Need a Ground-based, Solid, Big and Spacy Train Network.

Otherwise, Ship transport may take Much Longer : F.ex., reportedly 10 or 14 Days by Train, compared to  "up to 45 Days" by Ship, from Hamburg to Shanghai.

- Second, because with the Recently Growing, Deadly Islamist Terrorist Attacks cowardly Targetting Innocent Civilian People, an Airplane is much more Difficult to Secure, Saveguard and/or, particularly Rescue, than a Train, (where, f.ex., adequately prepared and Efficient Interventions may either prevent or, especialy, alleviate, at least partialy Save, and/or Restore a Normal Situation).

- Thirdly, because People would be Thrilled to become Able to Travel from one End, to another End of the Earth, while also fully Crossing through the 4 Biggest Continents of the World, ...without having to even get out from their Seat, Table, Family/Group Compartment, and/or Wagon/Bed at all !  And, this, while they Can always See and/or Discover, from their Windows (and/or even by, eventually, Seizing the Opportunities offered by several Stops, as well as Other, Transversal InterLinks) the Beauties and/or Original Characteristics of Every Country, every City or Landscape crossed... Something practicaly Impossible with an Airplane.

As for the Timeframe, No Problem : F.ex., do you want to Waste all your Summer Holidays Limited only in 1, more or less Dull Spot alone, or do you Prefer, instead, to get a Chance to Discover ...30 or 40 New Countries accross the 4 Biggest Continents of the World, (during that Same Time of 1 - 1,5 Month, i.e. in just 1 Summer) ?

All accross such a Long and Flexible Line, People can Imagine, Offer and Organize a very Large and Variable Spectrum f.ex. of Different Touristic "packages", (going from "Super Luxe" to "Business" or "Family", up to Groups, Couples or Individual Travellers, "Night" Travels, Partial or Full Crossings, various Possibilities of Inter-Connections, etc), of All Kinds of Utilisations and Prices, that a more or less Long Series of Train Wagons with several Parts each, can much More Easily allow, that 1 Airplane alone...

- Fourthly, because almost all Airplanes provoke Big Noises and Air Pollution, as well as Climate CO2 Degradation, while, on the Contrary, Railways (particularly Electric and/or Electro-Magnetic, etc), are much more Environment and Climate-Friendly.

+ Last, but not Least : Fifthly, an eventual Future "GRN" will Not Only Add plenty of New Possibilities, partly Cited Above, but it will Also Accelerate, considerably, the Functionning of the Already Existing Railway Networds : By Offering a well and simply Organized General "Backbone" Architecture, more or less, progressively Speeded up by Stimulating the Addition and Accumulation (accross 1 Strategic, Trans-Continental Line) of "TGV", "ICE", "Thalys", and various Other "High Speed Trains", and/or even "TTGV" or "Very High Speed Trains", etc., naturaly, it will Also Shorten the Time needed in order to reach various Other Destinations, served Partly by Transversal InterSections or Links, and Partly by the Main Line of such a "GRN", all around a Wider Area.

A whole Decade Later, from 2008 to 2017/2018, it's Time to present (or, at least : Start Dreaming of) a brand New and concrete, really "Global" Project, undeniably able to do just that...  

And, precisely, the current "Hamburg - Buenos Aires"/"Germany - Argentina" Symbolic and Practical "2017-2018" Coincidence, is obviously Timely for such a "GRN" Project, as a simple Look at the Map easily shows.

Now, the Time has come, our Clock Warns : Back to Grassroots Realities...

- Let's get those Crutches, grab that Heavy Bag, wear a Hat against the Heatwave's "burning" Sunlight, and Start again to Slowly and Painfuly Walk, Walk, and Walk, bit by bit, Slaloming Carefuly Between Groups of "Demonstrators" and/or Closed Lines of Policemen, Barricades, Road Blockades, Broken Glass, etc., often Inevitably Stopping to take a Breath and/or Ease the Sufferings of a Horrible Pain at one Leg, Wipe the Drops of Sweat in an Exceptionaly Hot Atmosphere, so that our Eyes can clearly Look Ahead, all along the 1,5 or 2 Km never finishing, Long Avenues, may be more, (and the 1,5 or 2 Hours, in such Exceptional Conditions : Comp. Supra) which Separate our Hamburg's Hotel (not far away from "Ibis") from the "G20"'s International Media Center, (where even a Supplementary "Zig-Zag" has to be made by Journalists, since the Local Police decided to fully Close all the final Road, and even Add an ...Artificial, Metalic "Bridge", with 2 Long but Narrow and slipery Staircases, in order to simply ...Cross that Street !), Wait again at a Quew, Repeat a, (sometimes Too Long or even uselessly Blocked), Time Consuming "Security Check", Walk along +250 m. or More, until to Find, at last, a Long Mecanic Chair (since Nobody Knows if and where might be any Lift at all, inside a 500-600 m. Long Building with 3 Floors !), just to Rush, Urgently, to Find where might be that Mysterious "Briefing Room", where 2 Exceptionaly Important Press Points might, eventualy, be still taking place, ...Only to Discover that, Unfortunately, ...Both had Finished, just a Few Minutes ago !

Never seen Before, in More than 23 Years of well active Experience in European/PanEuropean/International Press work, including a Big Number of Summits, also in Germany and elsewhere in Europe and the World (+9/1993-2017) !

After all that, we can always ..."Dream" at least.

*Hambourg/(Germany)/G20 Summit/Angelo Marcopolo/- An exceptionaly "Tight" "in" and "off" Program just started to Unfold overNight from the Eve of G20 Summit of Heads of State and Government in Germany's North-Western MegaCity of River/SeaPort of Hambourg:

From the Afternoon, until Late Night, several...Trans-Continental "Duos" arrived at the Regional Airport, one after the other : F.ex. Idonesian President Joko Widodo and his wife, closely Followed by UK's Prime Minister, Theresa May. And, Later on, Mexican President Enrique Piena Nieto, before Russian President, Vladimir Putin, (just before MidNight), and so on.

Even a tasty ...Coffee served to Journalists, including "Eurofora", at G20's International Media Center, was made (in Germany) out Seeds coming from 3 or 4 Different Continents of the World, an NGO representative Lady who was distributing the relevant specimens and documentation, told "Eurofora"...

The move had been Intensively Prepared by a lot of Earlier Top Meetings : F.ex. German Chancellor Angie Merkel, (the Host of this Annual Mega-Event for 2017), had Invited, previously, all EU Member States' Leaders in Berlin, for coordnination; Chinese President, Xi Jiping, visited Earlier, Moscow and Berlin: US President Don Trump, made a Long Series of relevant Phone Calls from the White House, just before his departure, and visited at the eve, Poland, at abOther Summit of Different, European Countries, (making, by the way, also, a landmark Speech there, (for the Western Civilisation's survival, etc).

Tonight, the Japanese Delegation was the 1st to Open the (Mediatic) Fire, with the earliest Press Briefing here, on the Meeting that Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, just had with US President Don Trump, and New South Corean President Moon Jae-In, where North Korea dispute was at the Limelight, as a Japanese source told "Eurofora".

Abe is due to meet also Putin on Saturday, who Marks this 2017 G20 Summit with his 1st personal meeting with New US President Trump, already Tomorrow, Friday, July 7, 2017, at about 3 p.m., as Russian sources told "Eurofora": an Event expected to be closely followed by a lot of collegues...

Merkel reportedly Hosts also a "Normandie" format Trilateral meeting with Putin and Macron, at the Morning of the Concluding Day, Saturday, July 8. (While the New French President's expected 1st meeting with the Chinese President Xi Jiping, might also Mark this 2017 "G20" Summit).

Meanwhile, for the First Time, the Starting Point of this G20 will be a Discussion and Working Session on the Fight against Terrorism, given also the Recent multiplication of Deadly Islamist Terrorist Attacks in Europe, (mainly at the UK), and in Damas (Syria),but also Elsewhere in the World, not only at Afghanistan, but even on...Philippines, etc.

As for Economic Growth, Trade and Employment, (which were the No 1 Issue for G20, when it had been Created, in the middle of the 2008-2009 Economic and Financial Global Crisis),they are due to be discussed ...over Lunch time, also Tomorrow, July 7.But a comparatively ..."Lighter", and less "bumpy", Lunch is prepared for the Next Day, Saturday July 8, with easier and interesting Discussions on Digital Technologies, Women empowrement, etc.

European and International observers also expect New UNO's Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, venue and appreciations, just after his Experience, Today, at a Crucial Political Multilateral Conference on Cyprus' issue, (together with Foreign Ministers from Turkey, Greece, the UK, and the Republicof Cprus, the EU acting as an infuential Observer, as well as the Leaders of the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot Communities).

But an overall Impression that, in general, the available Time is "Tight", and exceptionaly "Dense", these Days here, seems to be an ambient Feeling.

In this Context, it's obviously Astonishing to witness the UnPrecedented, Negative spectacle of at least certain Accredited Journalists - who were apparently MisInformed by some Official sources, (unless something Else happened here), to Drop any Independent Means of Transport, (Car, motorcycle, bicycle, etc), and use Only "Public Transport" means, in order to come and go at the International Medias Centre - to be Scandalously ' and Atrociously ...Blocked for almost 3 Anxious Hours, Standing up under a heavy Summer Heat,     immediately after Arriving (exhausted, without even Time to sleep, after an exceptionaly Overloaded period, both in Brussels and in Strasbourg, before Hambourg, and pending Crans-Montana, etc), since All Public Transports to the IMC, even TAXIs (sic!), etc, had curiously ..."Vanished", et the Nearest  to the Event Railroad Station !

Indeed, there  wasn't even anyone to simply inform, seriously and clearly, on what happened, and how could accredited Journalists, at least Access the Press Cente by Walking a long and complicated Distance of more than 1 km, with zig-zags, Lifting Heavy luggage, etc., at an Unknown place...Not even when the Trapped Victims were almost Handicaped, obvioudsly walking only with atrocious Pains, and Crutches...

Something Never seen before, at any other (among many) Summits, both in Germany, and elsewhere in Europe, even at NewYork, etc;
It's only after almost 3  Hours Wasted, in Atrocioius Circumstances, Anxiety, etc, (and while some unrelated Civilian People started to Gather around, trying vainly to help, and asking what was going on, that we managed to Call at...Berlin, in the Federal German Government's Press Office, where someone gave the Mobile Numbers of certain Press Officers on the spot, who accepted to, at last, send a Shuttle to the  closest Railroad Station...

But, later-on, at this Evening, it all Started again : Contrary to previous kind Proposals, from a Shuttle Driver, to Help also at a reportedly Dangerous Night, to reach the Hotel, at the other side of the City, with Heavy Luggages, Pains and crunches, etc, and again Deprived of any "Public Transport", (Contrary to the Misleading "Advises", officialy given previously, by the Competent Athorities : Comp. supra), after Keeping for Hours, Standing up Exhausted, to Wait and Wait, this time Vainly, for any kind of Urgent Help with Any kind of Transport, (as some were Telling us to "wait", again and again), Finally, we had to Dare Walk for Kilometers, through an Unknown and Dangerous area in the Dark of the Night, already obviously Exhausted by the Previous ill-treatments, with Heavy luggages, atrocious Pains, moving with Crunches, for Too Many and Long Hours, through Never-Ending huge Avenues,  until we manaded, at last, to reach our Hotel, at about ...4 a.m. in the early "Morning" (i.e. withOut any Time to Sleep) !...

 

During more than 24 Years of European/International Press Activities, including Many Summits, almost everywhere, even G8, G7, G20, etc., Both in Germany and in France, throughout almost All Europe, also at New York, etc, we've NEVER seen such Strange,  Heavy, Damaging and apparently Unexplained Obstacles !

F.ex., all Other Times, German (Federal and/or Local) and/or French Authorities, had put at the service of Journalists, either Shuttles (f.ex. in Bavaria, for Elmau Castle's "G7" Summit on 2015, and in Deauville, for the 2011 "G8" Summit), or, at least, an Old Bus, (f.ex. at Heiligendam, in Pomerania, 2007 "G8" Summit, etc), unless they had Clearly Warned about the precisely Blocked ares, and a Total Absence of Public Transport, nor Taxis, there, sufficiently on Time, so that Journalists could have been Prepared to have, at least, a Bicycle ready, or organize a venue Before such a Blocade, and find an Hotel inside and Near the Events' area (f.ex. at the November 2011, "G20"  Summit in Cannes), etc.

=> Apparently, there might be certain Exceptionaly Important Political Stakes, now, at this 2017 "G20" Summit in Hambourg, for some to apparently Attempt to slyly Obstruct Free and Efficient Press Contacts and Reporting, at such a level...

>>> One more reason, for all interested Collegues, to really Try to Focus on this 2017 "G20" Summit's main points of Substance (and surrounding Topical Political Events) !

*Strasbourg/EU Parliament/Angelo Marcopolo/- Experienced 1st vice-President of EU Commission, Frans Timmermans, former Foreign Minister from the Netherlands, speaking to "Eurofora" Today in EU Parliament, said that EU can play a Role also in order to Help UnBlock the Security Issues which (in addition to Human Rights, Governance, etc), are a crucial Challenge in front of an eventual International Agreement for the Solution Cyprus' issue and the peaceful ReUnification of the island, currently Negotiated, under UN auspices, at Crans Montana (Switzerland).

Timmermans was Representing the EU, Together with High Representative for External Action Federica Mogerini, a former Foreign Minister of Italy, in the UN-sponsored Multilateral Top Political Conference on Cyprus, which resumed recently there, with the Participation of Top Political representatives from Cyprus, Greece, Turkey and the UK, etc., under the supervision of UN Security Council's members.

 - "Yes, I was in Switzerland for Cyprus, and I should go back there, but I don't know yet exactly when, Replied Timmermans in relevant "Eurofora"s Questions, Today Afternoon, i.e. shortly Before it was anounced, later this Evening, that the New UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, would also Return at Crans-Montana apparently on Thursday, July 6.
 
+ Questioned by "Eurofora" about his Feeling on how these UN Cyprus' Talks are evolving until now, Timmermans appeared quite Sober, pointing at UnCertainties to lift :

- "I don't know : One Day I am Optimistic", but "anOther Day I am Less !..", Replied EU Commission's 1st vice-President, apparently noting the notorious Turkish Govenment's insistance to Ask, in addition to Keeping several of its Troops which Occupy the Northern part of Cyprus since the 1974 Invasion, even a Claim for Unilateral Military Interventions also in the Future :

I.e. something which was already a main cause for a "Sine Die" Postponement of UNO's Cyprus Talks since back on January 2017, and reportedly Risks, even Today, to Block them again, since Cyprus, Greece, and Many EU and Other States consider Unacceptable and Dangerous to submit a UN + CoE + EU Member State under a Constant Threat to be Invaded anew, at any moment, by the Military of a Foreign Country like Turkey...

=> Therefore, at another "Eurofora" Question about EU's possible Contribution into Solving eventual Security/Defense Issues in EU Member Cyprus, after a possible ReUnification, Timmermans started by a Positive initial observation :

- "Well, there are Elements in Economy...", (something which includes, at least partly, also Greek Cypriot Refugees/Displaced persons' Family Homes and other Private Properties, that they are practicaly Hindered by Ankara's Military to Access, resulting in many Condemnations of Turkey by the ECHR for Violations of Human Rights), "...and in State-Building, that Contribute to Security", he Rightfuly Noted, referring, at first, to certain among EU's traditional competences.

 + - "However, as such, Security Issues are not so much matters for the EU. They are also matters for others" (i.e. UNO's Security Council, etc), Timmermans went on to add. This probably includes Cyprus' President Anastassiades' proposal for UN SC (acting according to its Competences under Chapter 7 of UNO's Charter) to ensure the Security/Defense of a ReUnified Island in the Future. But, if limited only to that, it might also Underestimate EU's own capacities to act, nowadays and in the foreseable Future...

   - "But, you are (also) comming from Brussels, where EU has just spoken even about Defense policy !  Don't you think that something about it could be used here ?", "Eurofora" reacted by asking Timmermans.  

- "Yes. I think that Some of it (i.e. EU's Security/Defense policy), will be there (i.e. on Cyprus)", EU Commission's vice-President concluded Positively in Reply to "Eurofora"s Question.

The Latest EU Summit in Brussels notoriously Decided to Boost EU' Security and Defense policy, (Comp. f.ex. "Eurofora"s NewsReport from BRX: ...), while More is Expected in ths field also by the December 2017 EU Summit, i.e. After the conclusion of the Electoral period of this year in France and Germany.

+ In Addition, concerning EU's Franco-German+ core, by a Timely Coincidence, this Summer 2017, EUROCORPS' Army Headquarters, based in Strasbourg, and Created since 1992/1993 (i.e. during the Historic German Chancellor Helmut Kohl's era, together with Mitterand, then, and developed further afterwards also with Chirac, etc), is due to celebrate its 25th Anniversary, while Spain will hand over its Annual Chairmanship to Germany for the period of September 2017 - August 2018.

EUROCORPS' full Member Countries (France, Germany, Spain, Polland, Belgium and Luxembourg, to which are also Attached, via Liaison Officers f.ex. Italy and Greece, etc., Turkey having a partly similar link via NATO, etc), have already considered, in the Past, as theoreticaly Possible for this Unique European Army Corps to eventualy serve, under UN auspices, inter alia, also for Tasks such as f.ex. Moreover, "Eurofora" witnessed personaly, last Saturday, on the occasion of a PanEuropean/International Top Political Gathering at EU Parliament for the Memorial Ceremony in honor of Historic German Chancellor Helmut Kohl (Comp. f.ex. : ...) that New US President Don Trump's Director of National Intelligence (DNI), Dan Coats, was present in Strasbourg, at the Same Time and Building with Germany's super-Minister of Interior, De Maizières, a Merkel-faithful and close ally (initialy Head of her Chancellorship's Administration), even if the venue of the latter here had Not been Scheduled.

Such exceptional Key Contacts could have been used, naturaly, also in view of the forthcoming G20 Summit in Hambourg (Northern Germany) Later this Week, but Cyprus' UN related issue's developments are the only ones which have had several UnExpected U-Turns...

German Chancellor Angie Merkel has just concluded a Keynote Speech, in EU Parliament in Strasbourg, by stressing that "Now, it's up to us, to uphold (the) Legacy" of Helmut Kohl, World-Famous Father of Germany's and Europe's ReUnification, as well as of EUROCORPS (Comp. Supra).
And Both Merkel (Germany) as well as New French President Macron, met and discussed also here, in Strasbourg, with Prime Minister Medvedev from Russia, a key UN Security Council Permanent Member, traditionaly experienced and keen on Cyprus' issue.

UNO's Security Council is currently Chaired by China, during this July 2017.

By another Timely "coincidence", China's President Xi Jiping, just after visiting Russia, is currently paying an official visit to Berlin, to meet German Chancellor Merkel at the Eve of the forthcoming "G20" Summit in Hambourg.

China will be succeeded by Egypt, in UN SC's rotating Presidency, Next Month, on August 2017, followed by neighbouring Ethopia on September, and 2 EU Member Countries : France and Italy, on October and November, respectively, concluding by Japan, on December 2017 : Most of these Countries being also Participants at the forthcoming "G20" Summit, Later this Week in Germany, where their Heads of State/Government will meet precisely at the Aftermath of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres' reported Trip Back to Crans - Montana (Switzerland), on Thursday, 6 July, for the UN-sponsored Top Political Conference on Cyprus' issue, (i.e. just before flying, during the Next 2 Days for the "G20" Summit in Hambourg (Germany), on Friday-Saturday, July 7 + 8, 2017.

I.e., this time, UN - sponsored Multilateral Negotiations on Cyprus' issue, have been inserted in an exceptionaly Dense Top Diplomatic Agenda, from Last Week's EU Summit in Brussels (where it was Discussed on the Sidelines, including with several Bilateral Meetings), Followed by last Saturday's European Ceremony in Memory of Helmut Kohl in Strasbourg, (with the Participation of more than 190 Heads of State/Government, Key Ministers, MEPs, etc : Comp. ...), and Concluding by that forthcoming "G20" Summit, (Comp. Supra).

*Strasbourg/EU Parliament/Angelo Marcopolo/- Experienced, Long-Time Mainstream MEP, from the Governing ChristianDemocrat Party (CDU) in Germany, Elmar Brok, speaking to "Eurofora" in EU Parliament in Strasbourg, slamed a reported Claim by Turkey over Unilateral Military Intervention in Cyprus in the Future, which risks to Block the UN sponsored Talks for a Peaceful ReUnification of the Island, currently unfolding at Crans-Montana (Switzerland).

Brok has Chaired EU Parliament's Foreign Affairs Comittee for more than 12 Years, between 1999-2007 and 2012-2017, and Drafted Many Reports, particularly on EU Governance, EU Enlargement, and Common Foreign/Security Policy, etc.

 - Ankara reportedly wants to Hold an Unilateral Right for Military Intervention even in the Future, after a Solution to the Cyprus' Issue. Do you think that this would be Normal for an EU Member State (as Cyprus) ?, "Eurofora" Questioned Brok Today.

 - "No ! This is Not Acceptable !", cearly stressed, in reaction to "Eurofora"s above mentioned Question Brok.

- In fact, at First, "it has to be a Transitory Period", for Ankara's current Invasion/Occupation Troops to withdraw, he added.

Cyprus' President, Nicos Anastassiades, has reportedly proposed that, in a ReUnified Cyprus, Security could be guaranteed also by mainly European/International mecanisms :

- I.e. the whole Island's full EU Membership, as well as by UNO's Security Council, (acting under Chapter 7 of UN Charter).

But Turkey's Foreign Minister Mesut Cavusoglou has reportedly stressed, even during recent Days at the sidelines of the Crans-Montana UN-sponsoted Multilateral Talks on Cyprus, that Ankara wants to keep Military Troops on the Island, in addition to a persistent Claim for a Right to Unilateral Military Intervention, provoking a series of  Growing Reactions.

Therefore, it seems, according to the Latest News, relased this Evening, that Ankara's would now push a variant of the above :

- After merely Diminishing the Number of the current Turkish Invasion/Occupation Troops if the Greek Cypriots  Accept Ankara's other desiderata on a Deal for Cyprus, Turkey would agree, After a ... Fifteen (15)  Years period of Time, simply for "a Review" of its Claim for Unilateral Military Intervention. But it would Never Accept to Totaly Withdraw all its Foreign Army from the Island.... Moreover, this would be reportedly subordinated to the Condition that Cyprus accepts a "Rotating" Presidency, between the Representatives of normaly 80% Greek Cyriots and 18% Turkish Cypriots, (as they were Before the Turkish Army Invasion), and/or to Give an extensive Right of "Veto" to the latter, etc.

But, inter alia, Mainstream German Newspaper "Die Welt" had Strongly Denounced (with a FrontPage Article already Published as Early as since January 2017) the Risk for ..."Erdogan to get a VETO on EU Decisions" (according to "Welt"'s Headines), through such manouvers via Turkish Cypriots' role in an eventual Deal on EU Member Cyprus according to Ankara's desiderata...

+ Meanwhile, at Crans-Montana (Switzerland),  Turkish Foreign Minister Mesut Cavusoglou has reportedly Threatened several times the Greek Cypriots that if they do Not Accept Ankara's demands on Cyprus' Issue, then, these UNO-sponsored Peace Talks would be ..."The Last" !

I.e. that UN + CoE + EU Member State Cyprus would be practicaly Abandoned to a persisting Foreign Military Invasion and Occupation of its Norhern Territories, added to some 200.000 Greek Cypriot Refugees' Family Homes and/or other Private Properties' Usurpation, mainly by illegal Foreign Turkish Settlers Massively Imported by Ankara in the Occupied Territories, if Nicosia dares not yield to Turkey's desiderata...       

Such a Cynic and, reportedly, these Days,  Repeated Threat by Mr. Cavusoglou, instead of Upseting, Terrorizing, and/or Blocking these important UN-sponsored Talks for a Peaceful ReUnification of Cyprus, would better be dealt with a bit of ..."Black Humour" :
