Danish EU Minister Zilmer-Johns to EuroFora: Opt-out States support Civil+Dual EU CFSP tools
*Strasbourg/CoE/Angelo Marcopolo/- Even EU Countries, like Denmark, etc. who had Opted-out of EU's Security/Defence policy, support its Civil and Dual aspects, and understand the will of the Majority of EU Countries to organise an overall Defense mechanism, replied in substance Danish EU affairs Minister, Michael Zilmer-Johns to an "EuroFora"s question on EU's current preparation for a crucial December 2013 Summit in Brussels, due to fix strong basis for an Autonomous EU Defence, accordin to the conclusions of December 2012, (see relevant "EuroFora" s NewsReport from Brussels' Summit then).
- "Yes, I know, in December (EU Brussels Summit) we'll be definitively discussing" EU's CFSP", he immediately reacted to "EuroFora"s question on that point.
- "Well, of course, I just need to say that for Denmark, we have a particular decision that we have an "Opt out" on Defense", he reminded carefully.
- "Therefore, for Defense, of course, even if we cannot participate in the Military approach, we have to engage more actively in the Civilian part", Danish Minister anounced on EU CFSP.
+ Moreover, "of course", Investment on "Dual" High-Tech. Industries "is very Important for Europe as a whole", he agreed with "EuroFora", and even if Denmark "doesn't have a very large Defense Industry"; nevertheless, "we have some Producers", he observed.
- "And, in fact, as we see it from the outside, this European Defense Agency has been already quite Effective", found Minister Zilmer-Johns.
=> - "So, we look forward to the (CFSP) Debate in the European Council" of December 2013 in Brussels "with Interest", concluded the Danish EU affairs Minister in reply to "EuroFora"s Question.

+ Meanwhile, recent Developments have been going on also at the Strategic Island of Cyprus, where the new President, Nicos Anastassiades, has just anounced officiially the country's intention to participate in the "Partneship for Peace" programs due for NATO's European partners, following also earlier relevant developments on EU's Enlargement eastwards and NATO - Russia partnership, etc.
Even if the current EU Councl's rotating Chair, Ireland, is also keeping out of Military structures, nevertheless, the competent EU Affairs Minister, Lucinda Creighton, has already briefed, earlier in Strasbourg, EU Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee on relevant developments at certain "Hot points", and current plans to boost EU's CSFP.
And French Defense Minister, Drian, is due to speak on CFSP next week in Strasbourg in this same EU Parliament's Committee, headed by experienced Top German MEP Elmar Brok.

Pierre Pflimlin's visionary line : Honouring the Memory of the man who wanted to build Europe on the Mountains, based on Spirit !
One of EuroFora's best inspirators is naturally Pierre Pflimlin :
We had a chance to personally meet the dynamic and experienced former President of both EU Parliament and CoE's Assembly, France's Prime Minister and Strasbourg's Mayor, only at his 90th anniversary, during an Historic speech at the Council of Europe, exceptionally full of people.
But his energetic figure looked more like a youngster of 19 years old, eager to win the Olympic games !..
Visionary, 2P was, from many points of view :
His daughter, Antoinette, Artist-decorator, and Senator Jung, President of a group of friends, confirmed us an Historian's revelation, that Pflimlin had initially the idea to build all European institutions (EU Parliament, Council of Europe, European Court of Human Rights, etc) at the spectacular heights of Oberhausbergen hills, with an eye-catching view of both French Vosges and German Black Forest Mountains, in the midst of a Forest : A real vision to create a brand New European Headquarters with a big ambition !
But, it seems, that "someone in Brussels" found that picture, precisely, too big for his taste, and threw a spanner on the works...
Pflimlin stroke back a Decade ago, at his Historic 1997 farewell speech :
He urged Europeans to find another, more substantial way, to lift Europe to more important Heights in Future :
- "On which basis can we imagine the birth of a great Europe ?", he asked.
"Certainly an Economic basis ! A solid market economy, meeting also the needs of social justice. A Political basis : Europe must become a strong Political Power, able to influence World's changes, naturally for Peace."
"But I believe that the essential foundation of a greater Europe should be of Spiritual nature : .... The great pacific Revolutions were Spiritual Victories" : They expressed "People's main motivation to live in a society with our Values of Liberty, Democracy, respect for Human Dignity".
"Then, the roadmap is ready : Yes, the foundation of the unity for a large Europe is the spiritual heritage, inspired by Christian Humanism and the Humanism of Renaissance, of Enlightenment, from which emerged a Civilisation focused on the Human person".
"Here is the task to be accomplished. It's very difficult".
"The Time approaches when I'll have to pass over the torchlight. God willing, this torch should enlighten the path of those who are going to build, tomorrow, the great Europe, marked by this Spirit".
